Alan Leimbach, 64 formerly of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, passed away May 26th in Payson, AZ of natural causes. Alan Eugene Leimbach son of William Leimbach and Constance Nessan Leimbach was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on February 18, 1949. He moved to Payson, AZ in 2005, where he resided at the time of his death. He received his education in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. In 1969 he married Linda Brown and they had two daughters. He was filled with joy when he spoke of his daughters and grandchildren. Alan would be especially remembered for his love of cars and loved NASCAR racing. He enjoyed trucking and especially loved taking his family with him when he could. He also appreciated a good day of fishing. Alan was a member of the South Dakota Air National Guard. He truly loved living in Payson. He had many friends he spent time with there including a mule near his home he fed carrots to. He was a free spirit that lived a simple life. A service will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, June 6th, at First Lutheran Chapel in Sioux Falls. Following the service, burial will be at the West Nidaros Lutheran Church Cemetery in Crooks, SD. Grateful for having shared his life are his mother Constance, two daughters, Deborah (Jon) Wells, Avondale, CO. and Cara (Rob) Rasmussen, Brandon, SD. Six grandchildren, Austin , Seth, Shelby, Sidney, Zoey and Vayda. Four sisters, Marchelle (Milt) Jorgensen, Worthington, MN, Linda Gersten, Santa Barbara, CA, Jean (Dean) Nichols, Sioux Falls, Joan (Don) Brust, Casper, WY. Five brothers all of Sioux Falls, Mike (Shirley), Bill (Amy), Greg (Julie), Joe, and Mark (Carrie) Lanners. Several neices, nephews, cousins and friends. Alan was preceded in death by his dad, William, and his infant brother Steven.
