Roger Wayne Fowler, age 92, of Payson, passed away May 27, 2013 in Phoenix. He was born June 24, 1920 in Moline, Ill. and retired from John Deere Harvest Works of Moline in 1978.
Mr. Fowler was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Navy.
He moved to Mesa in 1978 and later, in 1994, to Payson, where he enjoyed woodworking and traveling in his RV.
Mr. Fowler was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Alice; his parents, Jesse and Emma Fowler; two brothers, Earl and Jesse Ralph; a sister, Mayble Taulbee; as well as his companion of 17 years, Joyce Stears.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 4 with military honors by the Payson Military Honor Guard, at Messinger Payson Funeral Home with interment following at Mt. View Memorial Gardens in Mesa at a later date.
