Obituary for Karline Winona Warwick

Karline Winona Warwick, born Jan. 27, 1936 in Oregon, passed away Aug. 6, 2014 at Payson Care Center. Karline came to Payson in 2004 to live with her daughter, Sylvia, son-in-law, Ted, and two great-grandchildren, Jeremy and Gregory.
Karline was the first woman ever hired at Weyerhause, Springfield, Ore. in 1970. She spent about 15 years in Hawaii. Following her husband’s death and a brain tumor she was forced to return temporarily to Oregon before coming to Arizona. She thought Arizona would be everything she saw in John Wayne movies and desert. Imagine her surprise when ending up in beautiful Payson.
Karline was preceded in death by parents, Ruth and Carl McCormick, Sr.; and husband, Joe Warwick. Survivors include children: Clinton Reeves, David Reeves and Sylvia Miller; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; also a brother, Carl McCormick, Jr.; and sister, Renee Mejia.
A sometimes “gruff” exterior hid a wonderful wit and kindness in this “spitfire” of a woman. Karline was loved by family and friends and will be dearly missed with fond memories.
