Together again
On April 19, 2014 Robert (Bob) Lawrence went to join his beloved wife of 68 years, Elizabeth, who preceded him in death Sept. 27, 2010. Bob was born on Oct. 9, 1917 in Dixon, Ill. Beth was born Feb. 3, 1921.
They met and were married in Minnesota in 1942. Bob served in the South Pacific with the Navy Seabees. After the war, they moved to Grand Canyon where Bob worked for the Santa Fe Railroad as a machinist. They moved to Boulder City, Nev. in 1954 and Bob worked for Stauffer Chemical Company. He was transferred to Louisiana in 1972 where they stayed until his retirement. They then moved to Texas to be close to their favorite fishing lake. They moved to Payson in 2010.
They were famous for their hospitality and were active members of the Southern Baptist Church.
They are survived by two children, John (Roberta) Lawrence of Rio Rancho, N.M. and Cathie (Pete) Jackson of Payson, Ariz.; 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
They will be buried in the Veterans Cemetery in Boulder City, Nev. on May 23, 2014.
Friends and family join in wishing them God speed. They will be missed.
