Richard “Cave” Doggett III, age 75, of Pine, Ariz., passed away peacefully on April 17, 2014, following a short battle with renal cell carcinoma.
Cave was born Nov. 10, 1938 in Larkspur, Calif., to Richard “Cave” Doggett II and Mary Lois Gross. A truck driver, he retired 35 years accident free, hauling fuel for Redwood Oil Company in Santa Rosa, Calif.
Survivors include wife, Dianne M. (Booth) of Pine, Ariz.; two daughters, Michelle L. Gosser (Kevin) of WaKeeney, Kan., and Amie C. Doggett of Pine, Ariz.; two sons, Richard C. Palmer (Kris) of Campbell, Calif., and Ray R. Doggett of Pine, Ariz.; grandson, Cole M. Caruthers of WaKeeney, Kan.; granddaughter, Crystal M. Caruthers of Abilene, Texas; and sister, Gloria Doggett of Sherman Oaks, Calif. He also leaves behind his beloved dogs, Paco and Gypsy.
Cotati, Calif. was home prior to retirement. His passions were annual vacations and outings with the family, movies, dogs, computers and the great outdoors. Cave was baptized into faith in Jesus Christ on Feb. 29, 2004 at Penngrove Community Church, Calif. A memorial service was held in celebration of his life at the First Baptist Church of Pine, Ariz., on April 22, 2014.
