Barbara J. Phillips, age 77, passed away Feb. 3, 2014 at Payson Regional Medical Center. Born in Ohio, Barbara lived in Arizona for the past 44 years. Barbara was an active member of the Payson First Church of the Nazarene, where she was involved with the A.N.D.Y. group and the Martha Ministry. She also served on the church’s Missionary Council. Barbara made use of her talent by decorating the church for various events. In addition to her church work, Barbara enjoyed traveling.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, whom she married Feb. 26, 1979, Johnny Lee Phillips, on May 18, 2001 and her brother, Jimmy Sherwin.
She is survived by her two daughters, Cindy Kariker and Tina Kiphuth (Jeff); her grandchildren, Willie Kariker, Brandon Lish (Megan), Nathan Lish and Courtney Kiphuth; her great-grandchildren, Julian, Johnny and Brylee Lish; and brother Albert.
Friends are invited to attend the memorial service at 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014 at the Payson First Church of the Nazarene, 200 E. Tyler Pkwy. Private burial alongside her husband will be at Mountain Meadows Memorial Park in Round Valley.
Instead of flowers, contributions honoring Barbara may be made to the church.
